Heroes of Mythic Americas is a 5th-edition compatible campaign supplement. The book is designed to provide players and game masters with new options to bring the Mythic Americas universe to their 5th-edition campaign. Set in a fantastical version of the Pre-Columbian Americas, Heroes of Mythic Americas features exciting new character options, setting locations, and adversaries inspired by the indigenous cultures and mythologies of the Americas.
Mythicos Minis introduced the gaming world to the acclaimed Mythic Americas tabletop war game; the first miniatures game to explore the rich cultures and mythologies of pre-Columbian Americas. Mythicos Minis is one of a very few Latino- and Indigenous-owned companies in the gaming industry. We hope that with the success of this Kickstarter, we can do our small part in bringing more historical awareness and inclusivity to the gaming industry.
It is important to note that Mythic Americas is inspired and influenced by the mythologies of various cultures in the Americas, but it is by no means a history of the mythos, peoples or religions of the Americas. Furthermore, Mythic Americas has been written around its own fictional foundation and in no way seeks to present itself as anything more than a work of fiction. It is our sincere hope that the readers of this work become inspired to learn more about these people and their cultures. This book and the other game and publications around Mythic Americas will always look to the mythos and peoples of the Americas with nothing but deference, awe, and total respect.
The Heroes of Mythic Americas campaign supplement contains over 200 pages of detailed history, mythology and in-depth descriptions to bring the fictional world of Mythic Americas to your favorite tabletop roleplaying game. Useful to both players and game masters, alike, you will learn about the cultures, heroes and organizations related to each of the main historical representations. You can explore each culture's significant settlements and, most importantly, understand how your character moves through the spirit world from friendly settlements to the dark caves of Xibalba.
A major influence from the Mythic Americas Universe are the Everliving and Everchanging. These new alignments are not evil versus good or lawful versus chaotic. The new alignments are founded in restoring The Balance to the Mythic America world as ordained by The One. Your character’s definition of balance may not be exactly what you might expect!
Character creation in Heroes of Mythic Americas allows you to become a historical figure while crafting the character details from new, supplemental traits. The campaign supplement provides more than twelve new character archetypes with plenty of exciting options. Charge through the underworld as a mighty Aztec Eagle Warrior. Transform yourself into a jaguar or even a powerful Child of Xibalba and pounce upon your foes as a Circle of the B’alam Shape-shifter.
