Cacique

The Cacique is the chieftain of the Taino people and their leader in battle. Wise and fair, the Cacique gathers the community in a loose force in preparation for battle. What the Taino lack in formal martial training, they make up for through their communal spirit. Everyone gathers to protect the tribe and the Cacique ensures the right heroes and elders are situated to lead their force to victory.

Bohique

The Bohique priest is the shaman of the Taino people, who exhibits supernatural powers.

Performing simple melodies on the Fotuto made from the shell of the sea snail, the Bohique summons the magics of the island and the surrounding sea.

Guami’

The true heroes of the Taino tribe, the Guami’ are leaders in tribal battles. Each Guami’ can lead numerous units, allowing a Taino force to spread its focus across the battlefield.

Nitaino

The noble elders of the Taino are each trained in special fighting styles. When leading a band of Siba Warriors, the Nitaino provide their talents to the unit, making them more proficient with unique special abilities.

Siba Warriors

The solid foundation of the Taino warband, Siba Warriors were the trained members of the community. Efficient in the use of bows and spears, Siba Warriors were civilians trained in basic fighting tactics.

Naborias

The civilians or commoners of the Taino tribes, the Naborias supported the community by joining their Siba brethren to protect their community. Although not formally trained, the Naborias were fast and stubborn and excelled in supporting the Siba Warriors as they charged into battle.

Ciguapa

A seductress to some, a demon to others, the Ciguapa is a creature of the Caribbean jungles.

Using the illusion of her beautiful form, the Ciguapa calls with seductive magic, luring the unwitting to their deaths. With feet facing backward, those who follow the Ciguapa are often confused, only to end their search in her deadly embrace.

Opiyel Guobiran

– Known as the soul dog, the Opiyel Guobiran is a sacred entity that shepherds the dead into the afterlife.

Guardians of the Caracaracol

Aspects of the god, Caracaracol, the Guardians use their mystical shielding and magical attacks to lay waste to enemies of the Taino people.

Coqui is the common name for a type of frog indigenous to the Caribbean islands. Legends tell of human souls that refuse to make their way into the afterlife or get lost on their way. Some may take the form of a Coqui while they remain on Earth until the Opiyel Guobiran leads them to their final destination.

Coquis
