Meet the Inuit hunters - the Tuktu Tuvaak and Arvik Tuvaak!
Welcome back, all you Heroes of Mythic Americas supporters. In today's update, we will be taking a deeper dive into the hunting world of the Inuit. Let's take a look at the upcoming hero models and their game archetypes. As always, the images in this update are the actual renderings of the miniatures you can expect to receive if you pledged at the "Player" tier and above.
As we travel in the far North of Mythic Americas, we come across a vast settlement beside an expansive bay. Ukkusiksalik stands as the consistent center for trade and leadership among the Inuit people. One notices the skins of bears and walrus and a team of butchers dispatching the carcass of a large whale. The Inuit survive on hunting in this harsh environment, devoid of most vegetation.

Tuktu Tuvaak - the Bear Hunter
The Tuktu Tuvaak, or Bear Hunters, fearlessly take on the largest Polar Bear, Caribou, and Musk Ox to bring creatures' spirits under their command or hunt them for food and protection. With heavy furs and sharp whalebone spears, the Tuktu Tuvaak are relentless hunters.
Inua of the Spear - A warrior seeking the role of Tuktu Tuvaak must undergo a solemn rite of passage. Demonstrating service to their community, the prospective Tuktu Tuvaak must participate in a successful hunt for a mighty whale. Returning to the village, all parts of the taken whale are gifted to the tribe, except one rib. The warrior crafts from the rib the head of a powerful whale-bone spear, all the while forming a mystical bond with the Inua or spirit of the whale. Depending on the whale type - Baluga, Bowhead, Gray, Narwal - your Tuktu Tuvaak will advance along a unique destiny.
Wearing bone armor and the skin of a mighty polar bear, the Tuktu Tuvaak is an option available for the Inuit culture. The Bear Hunter is for players who desire a new, unique Martial Archetype for the Fighter class.

Arvik Tuvaak - The Whale Hunter
The Whale Hunter is a new Ranger Archetype available to the Inuit culture. I must say that I am a tad partial to the Arvik Tuvaak as I am roleplaying this character in our playtesting. And I am having a blast! What makes this ranger so exciting? Well...
Aid of the Omingmak - How about the ability to summon a spiritual muskox to aid you in your adventures? The musk ox provides protection (as if you were wielding a shield) and allows you to make certain contested Strength checks with advantage.
Harpoonist - A new weapon type! Harpoon an opponent and then pull them towards the fray. Just win a contested Strength check. (See above.)
The advantages of a Harpoon are manyfold:
it is a ranged attack
you can move the enemy when they are stuck
or remove the harpoon to deal extra damage
you get pluses to your To Hit (which stacks with your Ranger Fighting Style of Archery if you were to go that route, and why wouldn't you?)
I can say that the Arvik Tuvaak is a fighting Ranger that can really deal some damage.
